| ABOUT THE CENTER |
The University of Delaware Education Research and Development Center has been established to provide the state with a development and inquiry capacity in support of efforts to reform educational policy and practice. The R&D Center receives its funding primarily from grant awards and special projects. Our current partnerships include the Delaware Department of Education, U.S. Department of Education, National Science Foundation, as well as several private and philanthropic organizations. The R & D Center addresses its mission through six strands of work:
→ Data-Based Decision-Making → Studies, Analyses, & Publications → Systemic Reform Evaluation → Ad Hoc Evaluation Support → University Support and Service |
OUR MISSION |
The University of Delaware Education Research and Development Center aspires to be a major voice that informs education policy and practice. This goal provides the focus for three basic elements of its mission. The first is to conduct high-quality research, evaluation and development support designed to improve education at the state and national levels. The second is to serve as a reliable source of research-based information in regards to the conditions and performance of educational systems. The third is to promote widespread use of that information. In sum, the R&D Center acts as a bridge between the worlds of the university and the classroom, between educational research and practice. |
