Debra Coffey, Ph.D.
Debra Coffey, educational researcher at DERDC, has designed and conducted multi-method evaluations for clients in the nonprofit, educational, and governmental sectors. Her experience includes instrument design and implementation studies, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, and document and discourse analysis. She has particular expertise in adolescent literacy, the analysis of educational policies and their effects on teachers and students, and in evaluating teacher professional development efforts. She served as program coordinator of the Classroom Observation special interest group of the American Educational Research Association from 2013 to 2015 and is a member of the Eastern Evaluation Research Society, the National Council of Teachers of English, and the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness.
