Educational Researcher

Shameeka Jelenewicz is an applied sociologist with a master’s degree in applied sociology and over 12 years’ experience developing, implementing, and managing evaluation projects. She specializes in conducting community-based projects related to social science research, positive youth development, and place-based capacity-building efforts. Since coming to DERDC in February 2015, Shameeka has worked on a number of research and evaluation projects related to college access services for Delaware high school students, expanding links with industry through collaborative research and education in applied mathematics. She is currently conducting research and evaluation studies related to health disparities for people with disabilities, early interventions for young children, language immersion programs for elementary students, and teachers’ use of data.
